Why does PinPic request location access?

PinPic uses precise location while the app is in use to determine whether you are within the matching radius of a saved place. You can revoke access in device Settings; manual location entry and editing remain available.

Does PinPic access my whole photo library?

No. PinPic uses Apple’s system photo picker and imports a private copy of only the image you select. Camera permission is requested only if you choose to take a new photo.

Where are my locations and photos stored?

They are stored in PinPic’s private app storage on your device. If you explicitly choose Back Up Now, PinPic stores one current backup in the private CloudKit database associated with your iCloud account.

What does Face ID protect?

PinPic can use Apple’s device authentication to protect access to configuration features. The app receives only the success or failure result and never receives or stores biometric data or your passcode.

How do I restore a backup?

Open Settings in PinPic and choose Cloud Backup & Restore. A restore replaces the current PinPic locations, private photo copies, themes, and settings with the contents of the available backup, so review the confirmation carefully.

How do I remove a saved location?

Use the delete control for that location inside PinPic. Deleting a location also removes the private photo copy associated with it from PinPic’s local storage.
